How Cargovate LLC handles personal data collected through this website.
Who we are
Cargovate LLC ("Cargovate", "we") is the controller for personal data collected through cargovate.com. Contact: sales@cargovate.com.
What we collect
- The contact, order and enterprise quotation forms, and the integration request box. Your name, work email and message, and — if you give them — your company, phone number, country and rough shipment volume. An order or quotation request also records the choices you made (volume band, modules, term, payment method, support level and where the software would run). The optional questions on those forms — the systems you use today, the biggest problem with them and why you are looking now — and the name of any tracking or data provider you ask us to connect are recorded only if you answer them. With each submission we record the page it was sent from, your IP address, your browser's user-agent string and the referring page, so that we can stop abuse and spam.
- Email. If you email us, your name, email address and whatever you choose to tell us.
- Visitor statistics. We count visits with Umami, an analytics tool we run on our own server. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It records the page viewed, the referring site, the browser, operating system, device type, and the country derived from your IP address. Your IP address itself is not stored: visits are grouped by a one-way code that changes every month and cannot be traced back to you. No third party receives this data.
- Server logs. Our web servers record standard access logs — IP address, browser user-agent, the page requested and the time — to operate and secure the service.
This website sets no cookies of any kind — none for analytics, advertising or tracking — so there is nothing to consent to on your device.
Why we process it, and our lawful basis
- Order requests — to prepare a quote and set up your service at your request: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
- Enquiries — to answer you: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- Optional answers and integration requests — to decide which features and connections to build next: our legitimate interest in developing a product that meets customers' needs. Staff read them alongside your enquiry; they are not combined with data from anywhere else.
- IP address, user-agent and server logs — to limit abuse of the forms and keep the service secure: our legitimate interest in operating a secure service.
- Visitor statistics — to understand, in aggregate, which pages are useful: our legitimate interest in improving the site, using a method designed not to identify you.
We do not use your details for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not add you to marketing lists because you sent a form.
Where it is kept and who can see it
Form submissions are stored in our own database on servers we operate with Hetzner Online in the European Union (Finland), reached through a server we operate with OVHcloud in the European Union (France). Visitor statistics are kept on the same Hetzner infrastructure. Encrypted backups are kept with the same provider. Only our sales, support and administrative staff can read submissions.
Service providers acting on our behalf as processors: Hetzner and OVHcloud (hosting), our website host, and our email provider (when we reply to you, or send you an automatic acknowledgement of your form). If you go on to buy, payments are handled by Stripe, which acts under its own privacy notice. We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.
Cargovate LLC is based in the United States. Where our staff access your data from outside the UK or EU, we protect it with the safeguards the law requires.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and order requests — and the messages we sent you about them — are deleted automatically 24 months after the last contact about them, unless you became a customer, in which case the details become part of your customer record. Visitor statistics contain no names, contact details or IP addresses and are kept to compare trends over time. Server logs are kept for our hosting providers' standard periods. You can ask us to delete your submission at any time.
Your rights
Depending on your location you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data (including processing based on our legitimate interests), and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email sales@cargovate.com. If you are in the UK or EU you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.
Client operational data
This notice covers the website only. Data processed within the Cargovate platform on behalf of a client is governed by the agreement with that client, under which Cargovate acts as processor and the client as controller.
Changes
We will update this notice as our processing changes. Material changes will be reflected here.
